Enhanced LIMS for the Water Industry – Neptune II

August 2009, Falmouth, MA: Zumatrix announced Neptune II an enhanced configuration of  Matrix Gemini LIMS from Autoscribe, Ltd. Developed in collaboration with several metropolitan water districts, the original Neptune configuration of Matrix LIMS delivered the twin benefits of economy and richness of functionality.  Previously, many solutions targeted at this sector were either custom written and therefore high-cost or off-the-shelf and therefore inflexible.

Neptune II harnesses the power of Matrix Gemini LIMS and provides identical user access to the system from either a full Windows® client or a web browser. There is no custom code to edit or special scripts to write when tailoring the system to the needs of individual organizations – all of the required changes in interface, workflow or reporting can be effected through the configuration tools.

As well as the standard support for NELAC such as providing unique sample IDs; a full audit log of who/what/when; comprehensive chain of custody reporting and capture of the relevant sampling information (temperature, pH, preservative, etc.) Neptune II has significant advances in the following functions:

  • Support of quality control samples and reporting
  • Support of sample preparation steps
  • Recording and reporting of instrument calibration and maintenance
  • Recording and reporting of staff training
  • Document management
  • Production of EDDs
  • Neptune II also has an optional pricing / quoting module and invoicing links to popular accounting packages for use by contract testing laboratories.
