LIMS Test Limits
Flexibility unlimited
Flexibility and configurability is a key feature of the Matrix Gemini LIMS system. This flexibility is also very apparent in the area of testing limits. Limits may be set at:
- Product level – perhaps in accordance with QC requirements
- Test level – representing detection or linear limits
- Sample level – giving the expected range for the results from ad hoc samples
- Stability sample level – for samples undergoing stability shelf-life testing
At each of these levels, more than one window of limits may be set, with a separate warning generated according to the threshold crossed.
The warning that is generated on each occasion can be selected by the user. These include:
- A warning message
- A change to the color of the background in the result cell
- A color change to the result entry
- An audible warning
Matrix Gemini LIMS also offers rules-based limit processing. For example, different limits on blood sample testing may be applied, depending on whether the subject is male or female, or depending on species. You can also apply rolling average limits, which will be based on the previous number of results, specified by the user.
This limit functionality is extremely powerful and can be configured to a level of detail to satisfy even the most sophisticated requirements.
